No matter how much money you have, that is not real prosperity. That's why in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said this:
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21

So how can you have prosperity that can never be taken away? How can you have peace in troubled times? How can you be confident even if things are falling apart all around us? How can you have treasure that never passes away?

Jesus tells us in that same passage-we have to seek God and His righteousness first, and everything else..."all these things" will be yours! (Matt. 6:33)

Don't miss this truth: the very moment that you were born again, you received righteousness as a gift from God. The Bible says you were "made the righteousness of God" in Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21) That means that when God looks at you, He doesn't see any of the shortcomings or failures or sins of your life--He sees the blood of His Son. Your are righteous in His eyes! Understanding this powerful truth is the key to living in victory.

There is No Way to Overstate the
Importance of Righteousness in Your Life.

Righteousness is the taproot...the center, the source, the heart...of the true blessings and prosperity, the kind that can never be taken away. Righteousness is:
  • the taproot to favor (Psalm 5:12).
  • the taproot to healing (Malachi 4:2).
  • the taproot to victory over sin (1 Corinthians 15:34).
  • the taproot to wisdom (Proverbs 2:7).
  • the taproot to spiritual growth (Ephesians 4:14-15).

Righteousness is a gift that will protect you and provide you with favor, wisdom, insight, power, authority and the anointing of God!

Is it any wonder that the devil has declared war on your righteousness?

He wants to defeat you. But the Bible says you can be established in righteousness (Isaiah 54:14). The gift of righteousness will provide you with an unshakable foundation for your entire life--a solid rock to stand on in the midst of every storm.

Jesus never said that the wise man wasn't going to have storms. He just said that the wise man built his house upon the rock-this man was established in righteousness because he built his life upon the rock of God's Word. That is the key to confidence and success in uncertain times.
